Love Your Practice

Aug 12, 2020

Have you had an event in your day that upsets you… and then you stay focused on that one negative instance for the rest of the day? This can be frustrating as you try to proceed through your day! However, there are some great steps you can take to stop this process from happening to you and, instead, allow yourself to end the day in a much better way.

In this episode, I present actions to deal with a negative event or feeling. There is a process to this so that you can not only acknowledge the negativity but move out of that space into a much better place. Our brains pay attention to things that are shocking or negative, and those instances then hold our attention. So, it is important to take the steps to move beyond that stage. Do you practice gratitude? And do you regularly take time to do things you enjoy such as hobbies or helping others? I will tell you exactly why those activities - things that bring joy - are so important! This episode will help you increase your awareness of what is going on in your brain. If you don’t want to go home grumpy because you’re focusing on something negative, you have to be aware of your brain’s activity and how you can move past that, giving your brain new things to think about. Listen to this episode to learn the steps to go from a negative thought to feeling much better!
